Anyway, my trip...
I love these one foot-long hotdogs they sell on the strip. I had one all three days I was there and think about them longingly when I'm home. That would have been enough to make my vacation great. The first night we got there pretty late so we just walked down the strip and got hotdogs (I really should have taken a picture for this blog). The second day we hiked to the top of Clingman's Dome, the highest point in Tennessee. I didn't know we were going so I went in flip-flops. Not the best idea. (Although not the worst footwear decision I've ever made. I've had the skin peeled off the entire ball of my foot from stilettos. A story for another time.)
We took pictures that resemble this.
People ahead of us on the trail saw a Momma Bear with two cubs. I would have liked to see it from afar, but didn't make it up in time. The rest of the day was more of the same with some advil and a hotdog :)
Yesterday we hiked a little bit and went to the Gatlinburg Aquarium. Brighton made us stay in the Shark tunnel for about an hour. As a child, my older brother never liked water tunnels at Sea World. He is claustrophobic so it bothered him. I always thought of myself as brave because it never bothered me in the slightest back then. But after 15 minutes being alone except for a three-year-old and sharks surrounding your front, back, and overhead, combined with the eerie Jaws-reminiscent music playing, it starts to get a little unnerving. I took a few bad pictures with my phone.
Overall it was a good relaxing vacation. I am glad to be back to my own bed tonight though!
